For the first of the programme's 31st series of hard-hitting reports, Marcel Theroux and his director Victoria Bell head to Malaysia, where the government has declared transgender people to be enemies of Islam. The pair meets the transwomen who are being forced to live in what human rights groups claim is one of the worst places in the world to be transgender. The duo also accompany members of the country's religious police force as officers crack down on anything they consider to be`un-Islamic'.
