In 2008 Stephen Fry travelled through all fifty states of the USA in a black cab. He's now heading South, exploring pre Columbian and Latin America by travelling from Mexico through to the border of South America.

Season 01 , Episode 03 – “Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua”
Stephen’s journey this week takes him from Salvador to Nicaragua, as he crosses over from Guatemala into El Salvador then moves onto Honduras and Nicaragua. Along the way, he has a go at surfing, tastes a new breed of banana, meets a real life Sweeney Todd and is taught how to do the maypole.

Season 01 , Episode 02 – “Belize and Guatemala"
Stephen makes his way through Belize and Guatemala. Belize is the only country in Central America that used to be a British colony and it has English as its official language and the Queen is still head of state. He pays a visit to the Wildtracks Animal Rescue Centre in Belize City where he finds out how to bottle-feed an injured baby manatee before meeting up with the last vestiges of the British Army. He then makes his way to Turneffe where he talks to a latter day Robinson Crusoe called Alan. Stephen later makes his way into Guatemala which has a very indigenous culture. He takes part in a sacred Mayan ritual with shaman Tata Gilberto and his acolyte Ricky Lopez, in the temples of Tikal. The then travels by bus into the mountains of the Ixil.

Stephen starts his journey on the Sante Bridge separating El Paso in Texas from Ciudad Juarez in Mexico. Ge travels on a converted school bus to avoid attracting the attention of the locals and heads towards Chihuahua. Along the way he sees some of the local cowboys before he experiences the enduring patriotism of a local hero, the revolutionary Pancho Villa. He then gets on board the El Chepe train as he makes his way into the Sierra Madre mountains and the Copper Canyon.
