Season 01, Episode 02 – “The Devil You Know”
While Star, Alexandra and Simone work on a demo for their chance to perform at a music festival, Roland Crane and his wife, Rose, come into town, revealing a big secret that threatens to destroy the group. Star then goes to extreme measures and risks it all to try to get her music produced by Roland. Meanwhile, Carlotta and Jahil go head-to-head, each trying to keep their secrets buried as someone's life hangs in the balance.

Bradley Fisher is a schoolboy superstar, an English lad who has become an Oscar-winning Hollywood giant with millions of fans worldwide, a veritable 12-year-old Brad Pitt. His success has made him obscenely wealthy (he's worth £20 million) and he has a generous allowance for self indulgences, but not all is plain sailing. Help is on hand from his two closest pals, dopey Mitch and straight-A student Billie. Then there's Bradley's mum, who wants her son to enjoy his fame and fortune but is determined it shouldn't spoil him.

Star, a tough-as-nails young woman who came up in the foster care system, tracks down her sister, Simone, and her Instagram bestie, Alexandra, and together, the trio journeys to Atlanta with the hope of becoming music superstars.

Star Magazine was founded by Rupert Murdoch in 1974 as competition to the tabloid National Enquirer with its headquarters in New York City. In the late 1980s it moved its offices to Tarrytown, NY and in 1990 Murdoch sold the magazine to The Enquirer's parent company American Media Inc. (Murdoch now owns the New York Post, which, although it has more of a regional, news-centered focus, still has significant celebrity coverage.) Originally an unstapled, inexpensive, supermarket tabloid printed on newsprint, Star Magazine was hugely successful but remained in the shadow of its longer-established stablemate. Along with the Enquirer its circulation declined with the advent of celebrity-driven television shows such as Entertainment Tonight and Hard Copy.
