Lucia decides to take the the town's cultural welfare in hand and hosts a regular series of musical evenings. Her apparent culture has the locals flocking to her banner but the odd yawn and tiny moan make it seem that some may be starting to tire of her high-handedness. Mapp decides to encourage a revolt.

Mapp hopes to run Lucia out of town, whilst Lucia bullies her way into the Tillingites lives. The residents watch on as the two women compete against one another in any which way they can.
