Filmed over six months, this observational documentary series follows life for officers and inmates at Albany County Jail, one of New York's toughest. Headed up by Sheriff Craig Apple and his team of 240 dedicated Correctional Officers, the jail accommodates over 1,000 men and women across 22 different housing units. In the first episode, officers are challenged by the arrival of seven senior gangsters transferred from New York's most notorious prison, Rikers Island. Meanwhile, 23-year-old student Michael Chmielewski is arrested for murder after a robbery goes wrong, and heroin addict and mother of four Tammy Lord tries to get clean.
