Season 1, Episode 03 –
In balmy Benidorm, the staff at the Rio Park and its sister hotel, the Flamingo Oasis, are gearing up to go the extra mile for their guests at a gala dinner night. For hospitality manager Nelson and his team of chefs, it’s a chance to showcase their culinary skills and tempt guests with Nelson’s favourite tipple — cava — but will the Brits just want beer and bangers and mash? For mother and daughter guests Yvonne and Marie, dinner is the least of their worries. They’re more concerned that the room they’ve been given has made their vertigo kick in — even though it’s only on the second floor. Desperate to move rooms, they plead with reception and even try out their limited Spanish on the cleaners to try and find an empty room with a view that doesn’t induce dizziness. Mother Marie is actually at the hotel to celebrate her 85th birthday, but her daughter is in no mood to celebrate until she’s all settled in a new suite. Meanwhile, Norbay — who is the hotel’s newest recruit in the entertainment team — is only two days into the new job and has to learn the ropes super quickly if the hotel is going to make sure everyone has a great time.
