Spicks And Specks Reunion Special WEB x264-TVC
Australia’s favourite music trivia show, Spicks And Specks, made its triumphant return on Sunday night for a huge, one-off reunion special as part of the ABC‘s Ausmusic Month.
Host Adam Hills and team captains Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough returned for the hour-long episode, which saw Warhurst team up with A.B. Original rapper Briggs and comedian Denise Scott, and Brough work his trivia magic alongside comedian Frank Woodley and singer Ricki-Lee Coulter.
The episode featured performances from Pseudo Echo, Paul Dempsey, Josh Pyke, Eskimo Joe’s Kav Temperley, Kram, Adalita, Montaigne, Ruel, Tripod and Vika and Linda Bull, as well as a huge supergroup ending featuring the likes of The Wiggles’ Murray Cook, Kate Ceberano and Frenzal Rhomb’s Lindsay McDougall.
The show closed with an ‘In Memoriam’ to late conductor, music educator and Spicks And Specks regular Richard Gill, who died last month at the age of 76.
Myf Warhurst took to Twitter to describe recording the special as “an absolute hoot”, while Adam Hills said he “loved” bringing the band of music obsessives back together.
The original Spicks And Specks series ran from 2005 until 2011, with its final episode airing on 23rd November 2011. The show was revived for a brief series in 2014, but without Hills, Warhurst or Brough.
