Strange But True was a television show created by LWT (London Weekend Television) and shown on ITV between 1993 and 1997. A pilot episode in May 1993 proved extremely popular and led to four series, including the third which was given the title of Strange But True? Encounters. A 90 minute live special about UFOs and aliens was also broadcast in 1997. The episodes were also recut into a dozen or so specials for the Discovery Channel in America, taking different halves from episodes in the programme. All episodes were presented by Michael Aspel (This is Your Life and Antiques Roadshow) and the famous paranormal writer Jenny Randles was the story consultant.
