Junior Bake Off S03E01-E03 HDTV x264 TM
Junior Bake Off is back for a brand-new 15-part series, hosted by Sam and Mark. Judges, top international chef Allegra McEvedy and executive pastry chef Graham Hornigold test 40 of Britain's best young bakers over a series of 10 heats followed by a knock-out week of finals. In each heat four bakers will face two challenges, the technical and the show-stopper, before one of them wins through to the next round.
Episode 1 - Entering the hallowed Bake Off tent, the first four junior bakers - Alyth, Harrison, Kiah and Matthew - have their baking knowledge tested when they're asked to follow a surprise recipe for strawberry shortcake stacks. The shortcakes need to be evenly baked and sandwiched together with cream and strawberries without falling over, so who will demonstrate precision and a cool head to make it into the top two? Following this they have the chance to express themselves and their baking with a show-stopping pinata cake, which should cascade with delicious treats when cut open.
Episode 2 - Farhaan, Hannah, Olivia and Tom are asked to follow a surprise classic French recipe for patisserie madeleines, which should have perfect blonde domes and fluffy centres. Then things get messy as the bakers get stuck into their show-stopping ultimate chocolate gateaux.
Episode 3 - Sam and Mark host and judges Allegra McEvedy and Graham Hornigold set four more wannabe bakers - Grainne, Isaac, Matilda and Will - two more challenges. Their baking knowledge is tested with a surprise recipe for a chequerboard biscuit. The challenge requires mathematical precision to avoid falling foul of ruler-wielding stickler for accuracy, Graham. Next, the bakers produce their own versions of a show-stopping vegetable cake. Beetroot, parsnip, carrot, runner beans - anything goes! As long as it's delicious, because a place in the quarter-finals is up for grabs.
