Brits Behind Bars follows the different stories of three people whose lives were changed forever after they decided to fly abroad. The show features unique access to jails in Florida and the Caribbean as well as moving testimonies from those who have been convicted, and are shocked to find out the price they have to pay for their crimes.

The fortunes of a Welsh woman who has already served two years of 12 year sentence in a Caribbean prison for allegedly killing her husband are followed. The show also follows the story of the businessman who has been in a Florida jail for 28 years for a murder he's attempting to prove he did not commit and the story of an alleged drugs mule.
