Season 01, Episode 07 – “Walpole Forest”
Adventurer Ray Mears concludes his travels around the incredible Australian wilderness with a trip to the heart of the Walpole Forest. Ray begins his journey by canoe, and learns how the Frankland River was used by loggers to transport jarrah wood, which is so hard it was once used as cobbles for London streets. Away from the river, Ray searches for giant tingle trees, which can grow 24 metres in girth. In the forest, Ray lies in wait for the elusive quokka, a small and very shy marsupial, before meeting up with environmentalist Prue Anderson, who shows him some of the other forest creatures she has captured on camera.
