Forty years after Arthur Ashe became the first black man to win the Wimbledon singles championship, this documentary tells his story, from his boyhood in segregated America to his sporting career and his later life as a campaigner on issues such as Aids and HIV, and the mistreatment of refugees. Serena Williams, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe, Ilie Nastase and Andy Murray explain Ashe’s legacy and their own personal debt to him, while there are also contributions from his brother Johnnie and friends Stan Smith and Donald Dell
